Red & White Winebar, located in Waunakee, WI, was recently awarded $15,000 in grant funds thanks to One Community Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago’s Community First® Accelerate Grant program.
Since opening in 2019, Mike and Kari Heller created Red & White Winebar to be a go-to place for guests to enjoy fine wines and bourbons. It’s a place for the community to come together, relax, enjoy a beverage, and connect with others. This grant money will help Mike and Kari upgrade key elements for their business and hire a social media manager. They’re excited to begin print advertising and share what they have to offer. Additionally, they plan to use funds to expand the bar’s refrigerator space and offer an expanded selection of beverages.
“Overall, being the recipient of this grant is a blessing in the mere fact of being able to breathe,” Mike and Kari, owners of Red & White Winebar shared. “We are so grateful to One Community Bank for thinking of us with this grant. It will help us allow our employees to work more hours and for us to socialize more with our guests.”
The Accelerate Grants assist the growth and development of small businesses in Wisconsin and Illinois. All grant recipients are small businesses that make a difference in their community, and funds can be used for a variety of purposes, including purchase or improvement of property, equipment, workforce development, and technology.
“Mike and Kari show their passion for the community in everything they do,” said Kay Gashette, VP – Business Banking Officer. “From the events they host to the beverages they serve; they’re consistently going above and beyond to create something special. I’ve truly enjoyed working with Mike and Kari and am excited to see what they do next, especially as they continue to make a difference in the community.”
