Dan epitomizes the qualities nominees are recognized for – character, success, positivity and innovation – in both his career accomplishments and his dedication to the community.

As Market President of McFarland, Dan is a bold advocate for his customers and for strengthening their businesses. He has an entrepreneurial mindset that seeks new ways to provide value to clients, with the most dramatic example his introduction and championing of PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) financing. This ground-breaking program allows property owners to obtain low-cost, long-term loans for energy efficiency, renewable energy and water conservation improvements.

Dan discovered the PACE program and made a compelling case to the bank’s Board of Directors. As a result, the Bank became the first financial institution in Wisconsin to offer PACE and is the top PACE lender in the state, funding $10 million in PACE loans, which translates into well over $10 million of lifetime energy savings.

Dan’s dedication to the vibrancy of his local community is also demonstrated by his involvement outside of work.  In addition to his service on the finance committee of his church, he is a board member on the McFarland Chamber of Commerce and president of the Wisconsin Harness Horse Association, which oversees the sports’ marketing, grant funding and race calendar.
