One Community Bank Announces 2023 Scholarship Recipients
One Community Bank is excited to announce the three recipients of the OCB Scholarship! OCB first launched its scholarship program in April 2021, with the commitment to grant three $1,000 scholarships each year forward. The 2023 application launched in March and was open to all high school seniors graduating in any of the surrounding communities that we serve. This year we received 58 applications.

We are inspired by this year’s recipients,” said Steve Peotter, President and CEO.
Congratulations to the following recipients:
Lily Breyer of Sun Prairie, WI, graduated from Sun Prairie West High School and plans to attend UW-Madison. She will study Data Science and Business. Lily has made it her mission to give back to the community through leadership and volunteerism. She has held a variety of leadership roles during her high school career, including President of DECA and Vice President of Future Business Leaders of America. Lily enjoys coordinating events and giving back to her community through volunteering at community events, fundraisers, food drives, vaccine clinics and more. Post graduation, Lily plans to continue her leadership work and join local career and service groups.
GeorgiaRae Samuelson of Waunakee, WI, graduated from Waunakee High School and will continue her education at the University of North Dakota in the Leadership Honors Program. She plans to become a pilot and will study Commercial Aviation. GeorgiaRae has been involved with a variety of groups in the Waunakee community, including the local EAA, Friends of Schmidt’s Woods, Student Council, her church, Waunakee FFA, and more. She is also active in hockey, track, and has been a role model for younger athletes. With her future career as a pilot, GeorgiaRae is excited to continue having a positive impact and making a difference in her community.
Maddelyn Webster of Waterloo, WI, graduated from Waterloo High School and will attend UW-Eau Claire this fall. She plans to major in Nursing with a minor in Spanish. Maddelyn has been involved with a variety of groups and was President of both the National Honor Society and Student Council. She takes pride in volunteering in her community. Her volunteer experience includes giving back to the local food pantry, Waterloo Youth Sports Organization events, her church, Unity-Point Health Meriter Hospital, and more. Maddelyn is excited to continue giving back in her community and looks forward to leading volunteer opportunities in the future.
This scholarship program aligns with One Community Bank’s commitment to invest in our communities. The eligibility requirements to apply for the scholarships were as follows: the applicant must be a graduating high school senior, must be in good academic standing, and have post-graduation plans at a 2-year or 4-year institution; a technical or trade school; or an apprenticeship program. The application process also required an essay on community service and involvement. One Community Bank is excited to continue this investment into our communities for years to come.
