SBA and Madison Mayor Recognize One Community Bank’s Dedication to PPP
(August, 2021) – One Community Bank (OCB) is known to be a leader in Wisconsin for assisting local businesses. The Small Business Association (SBA) recently recognized OCB and thanked the bank for that dedication – as represented by OCB’s commitment to supporting the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
SBA Administrator, Isabella Guzman, recently visited Madison to meet with OCB’s Chief Experience Officer Liz Deihs, Chief Sales Officer Steven Erickson, along with Madison Mayor, Satya Rhodes-Conway, and Coopers Tavern owner, Peter McElvanna. The dynamic group of Madison-area business leaders met to discuss the impact of the Paycheck Protection Program and to celebrate the commitment One Community Bank has made to Wisconsin communities and small businesses, like Cooper’s Tavern, a Food Fight Restaurant.
“Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans have been a critical source of support for us over the last year. This funding gave our restaurants the working capital we needed to keep our doors open and people employed. As capacity restrictions were lifted over the course of 2020 and into 2021, PPP loans allowed us to invest in hiring, training, and retaining employees.” Stated Food Fight Restaurant Group CEO, Caitlin Suemnicht. “Food Fight Restaurant Group partnered with One Community Bank for our second round of PPP loans. The team at One Community Bank has been very helpful through this process and we are thrilled to have them as a business partner. They did a lot of the heavy lifting for us by completing paperwork and submitting PPP applications so we could focus our attention on operating our restaurants.”
“OCB is proud to be a leader in PPP funding for small businesses in our community”, said Steven Erickson. “2020 was a difficult year for many. OCB was happy to do our part to help all of us get thru those challenges together”.
One Community Bank is proud to have helped over 18,000 of our neighbors stay employed and 1,422 of our local businesses keep their doors open with the Paycheck Protection Program.
