One Community Bank’s recently donated $2,500 (which was matched for a total of $5,000) to the Miracle League of Dane County, an organization that helps build inclusive baseball fields for children with cognitive or physical disabilities. This special field is built with rubberized turf, so children with wheelchairs, walkers, or difficulty walking can play ball, too. A community of “buddies” volunteer with each child as they experience hitting, throwing, fielding and rounding the bases to ultimately score by crossing home plate in each two-inning game.
One Community Bank’s donation to the organization’s Capital Campaign, which seeks to raise $120,000, will help to build a Miracle League Field at Bakken Park in Cottage Grove. The diamond is scheduled to be completed in spring 2021. One Community Bank is honored to support this inspiring program!
